SIMILITUDES: Color, Form, Friendship is an exhibition that foregrounds the artistic dialogue between American painter Helen Frankenthaler (1928 – 2011) and British sculptor Anthony Caro (1924 – 2013).
Acquainted for the first time in New York in 1959, Frankenthaler and Caro developed an enduring friendship centered on rigorous conversation and mutual respect. For the first time, this exhibition positions their relationship as an active site for creative and aesthetic exchange, bringing together carefully selected paintings and sculptures such as Swan Lake I (1961), Larry’s Land (1970), Formations (1963-64), Dream Box (1971-80), and Heading Southwest (1988) to illuminate their shared concerns and corresponding intuitions on color, form, surface, material, and space.
The exhibition runs until 11 July 2026. Open Monday – Friday, 10am – 6pm. Weekends, by appointment only.

EXPLORING CHILD'S TOWER ROOM
In occasion of the exhibition 'Anthony Caro: The Inspiration of Architecture' at Pitzhanger Manor & Gallery, dancer Sophie Brassard gracefully moves amidst the complex wooden shapes of Child's Tower Room in this stunning video. Inspired by a child's playroom, the tower-like sculpture invites playful exploration and interaction.
